About Us

Hannaford Eyewear has been established since 2004 after taking over an existing 19 year old optometric practice. We pride ourselves in providing superior knowledge and service, which is possible through continuing education. We recently expanded and are now equipped with two consultation rooms in addition to our existing lens laboratory which has been upgraded, and product display rooms. We service not only the Southern Highlands but are involved in international eye care programs delivering aid to those less fortunate.

Thao and Grant Hannaford are the proprietors of Hannaford Eyewear.

Thao Hannaford

Thao graduated with honours in her Bachelor of Optometry degree at the University of New South Wales. She also has a Master of Optometry and Bachelor of Arts degree. She has an interest in research and children’s vision. Thao is a member of the Optometrist Association Australia, Australasian College of Behavioural Optometrists and Contact Lens Society of Australia. She has been awarded as a Paul Harris fellow and is recognised by the Australian government for her aid work in Mongolia and Nepal.

Grant Hannaford

Grant is a licensed dispensing optician and is registered with the Optical Dispensers Licensing Board of NSW. He is vice president of the Australasian Dispensing Opticians Association (ADOA) and graduated with honours in a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of New England. Grant is currently enrolled in a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in physics. He has an interest in research and photonics. He has also been awarded as a Paul Harris fellow and is recognised by the Australian government for his aid work in Mongolia and Nepal.

Other Professional Staff

Bonney Vong

Bonney received her Bachelor of Optometry from the University of New South Wales. She is a member of the Optometrist Association Australia and Contact Lens Society of Australia. Bonney has an interest in ocular disease, contact lenses and paediatric optometry.

Kathryn Wallin

Kate originally did her optician’s training in the UK and has extensive knowledge and skill in this area. She has a particular interest in lens production and spectacle making.

Rebecca Collimore

Rebecca is currently undertaking the OTEN course Certificate IV in Optical Dispensing as part of her training in becoming a licensed dispensing optician. She has an interest in fashion frames and has a brilliant eye for style.
